Concrete pumpwells are precast underground chambers engineered to accommodate submersible pumps for reliable dewatering, stormwater control and sewage transfer. Manufactured from high-strength concrete, they can withstand heavy vehicular loads. Available in a variety of diameters and customisable in depth and inlet/outlet positioning, concrete pumpwells integrate seamlessly into site layouts. Their inert material and robust construction deliver decades of maintenance-free service, securing long-term cost-efficiency and peace of mind.

A well-designed concrete pumpwell delivers unmatched durability and reliability, forming the backbone of any groundwater or sewage handling solution. Its robust precast construction ensures the chamber remains stable and watertight for decades, even under heavy loads and shifting soils. By focusing on the concrete structure alone, you secure the site against settlement, leakage and structural failure without ongoing surprises or hidden costs.
Durability and Structural Integrity
Concrete pumpwells resist soil pressures and vehicle loading far better than alternative materials. This structural integrity minimises the risk of collapse or costly remediation works, safeguarding adjacent foundations and underground services.
Low Maintenance Over the Lifecycle
The inert nature of concrete means it does not corrode, warp or degrade in aggressive chemical environments. Once installed, a concrete pumpwell requires only periodic inspections of access points—no coatings to renew or liners to replace. This dramatically cuts maintenance, labour and materials costs while avoiding disruptive service outages.
Long-Term Cost Efficiency
Initial investment in a concrete chamber is offset by its multi-decade service life and minimal upkeep. Unlike plastic or fibreglass alternatives that may sag, crack or stiffen under load, a precast concrete well retains its strength year after year. The predictable performance and absence of mid-life overhauls deliver superior whole-of-life value for your project budget.
Seamless Site Integration
Precast concrete sections can be precisely tailored in depth and inlet/outlet positions, ensuring the pumpwell fits your site’s footprint without extensive excavation adjustments.
Panthers Concrete Tanks are constructed to meet Australian quality standards including AS3735 – Concrete Structures for Retaining Liquids and AS3600 – Concrete Structures.
The pumpwell will be lifted into excavated site. Appropriate access must be provided for the crane truck to lower tank to site. Any additional crane hire not included.
